RUG
RUG is an intimate duet for a dancer and musician unfolding within a spare, poetic installation. Eleven music stands are dispersed throughout the space, each presenting a page from Gerard & Kelly’s eponymously titled artist’s book and performance score. A carpet by Eileen Gray—a pioneering and long-overlooked figure in 20th-century architecture and design—anchors the space. With RUG, Gerard & Kelly transform Gray’s carpet designs into musical and choreographic notation, positing design as a framework for freedom.
