L’OBJET INVISIBLE
Commissioned by Fondation Maeght in celebration of its 60th anniversary, L’objet invisible reflects and refracts the site and the collection through shifting frames: the feigned innocence of 1964, the foundation's inaugural year; its history of presenting avant-garde music and dance, including the first performances in France of Merce Cunningham's company and a legendary concert in 1970 by Sun Ra; and the courtyard as a ready-made choreography for sculptures by Alberto Giacometti.
