RUG
RUG is a limited-edition artists’ book by Gerard & Kelly, published by Three Star Press. A performance score that unfolds across eleven tactile spreads, RUG reflects on the legacy of architect and designer Eileen Gray (1878-1976) while presenting a manifesto for interdisciplinary art-making. The eleven signatures, each named after one of Gray’s iconic rugs, bring together stills from Gerard & Kelly’s film E for Eileen, forms inspired by Gray’s carpet designs, and original plans of the E-1027 house and furniture. A poem written by the artists unfolds across the book in hand-stenciled text.
